Paying for Medical Transportation

Because getting to medical care, facilities, programs, and doctors is essential to your health care, there are programs to help transport you. UPMC provides free shuttle service between some hospitals and facilities:

UPMC MEDICAL TRANSPORTATION

  • UPMC Shuttle (Oakland campus)
Known as UPMC's Blue Shuttle, it runs weekdays from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. It loops the Oakland campus every 40 minutes. If you have questions about these services, call UPMC's Parking Operations at 412-647-3194. See shuttle schedule (pdf)
  • UPMC Oakland - Shadyside Shuttle
This shuttle provides service between Oakland and Shadyside. Includes five stops in Oakland, two in Shadyside, and one in Schenley Gardens. See shuttle schedule (pdf)
  • UPMC St. Margaret
Shuttle service from New Kensington area to UPMC Harmar and UPMC St. Margaret is available at no cost. The shuttle makes two round trips each day. See shuttle schedule (pdf)
UPMC St. Margaret also has a shared ride program through a partnership with the Area Agency on Aging. The shared ride program helps older adults access medical services to UPMC facilities, across county lines, where doctors have admitting privileges. Call UPMC St. Margaret at 412-784-1000 or contact us for more information and to make reservations.
