Aging Myths and Emerging Realities

As society continues to age, perceptions of older adults often fail to accurately reflect the changing face of the aging population. In an attempt to dispel some of the more common societal myths about aging, Richard Schulz, PhD, Associate Director for the Aging Institute of UPMC Senior Services and the University of Pittsburgh, contrasts old beliefs with current views based on his scientific research.

You can access common myths and emerging realities for the following areas of aging:

Adult Psychopathology
Aging Sensation and Perception
Death and Dying
Demographics
Intelligence and Cognition
Interpersonal Relationships
Memory
Personality
Physical Aging
Stress and Coping
Work and Retirement
